Mr. Mark O’Loughlin - Director
Mark is the Founder and CEO of Validated Leadership, providing consultation and leadership training for businesses and organizations. Mark is also a mortgage loan Officer for Retirement In Reverse. Mark specializes in Reverse Mortgages for people who are at least 62 years old, with adequate equity in their homes, and would like to access that equity. Mark’s previous civilian positions were Estimator/Project Manager Rossin Steel Inc. and the Vice President of Military Affairs, PsychArmor.org 501c(3).
Mark is a retired Marine Sergeant Major with 30 years of active service. His duties include service at a Marine Barracks; Instructor at Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry West, Camp Pendleton, CA.; three tours at Recruit Training Regiment, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA.; and, nine deployments with 1st Marine Division Infantry Battalions, to include combat operations in Desert Shield/Desert Storm/Desert Saber, and three tours of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was the Sergeant Major of 2nd Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA.; and, the Wounded Warrior Battalion West, Camp Pendleton CA.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars, and Combat Action Ribbon with gold star. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Columbia College, Columbia MO. and a Master’s in Business Administration, from National University, San Diego, California. He is currently the 2nd VP for the San Diego Nice Guys, 501c(3).

Our Board of Directors come from a variety of backgrounds, but one thing unites them all, a passion for preserving and perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps. Many who serve on our Board have a strong connection with the Marine Corps Recruit Depot having drilled on the grinder, been stationed aboard the Depot, or felt the local impact of Marines in San Diego.
