Mr. Jim Guerin - Vice President BOD
Mr. Jim Guerin is currently serving as the Board Vice President. Jim has been involved with the Foundation almost from its beginning. He has served in various officer roles on the Board to include President. He is a retired Marine Colonel.
In his civilian positions, Jim worked for United Way of San Diego as Assistant Director and then Director of the San Diego County Combined Federal Campaign from October 1997 to June 2005. He also worked for Management Consulting, Inc. of Virginia Beach from May 2006 to September 2013. Duties included developing a campaign to get families in Navy Region Southwest to prepare for disasters and emergencies. Then developed plans for Navy’s response for military families affected by disasters or emergencies.
Jim served in the Marine Corps from June 1968 to November 1997 as an Infantry officer. Aside from numerous command and staff billets as well as operations and deployments, Jim served as XO of RS Newark, Director of Recruiters School, CO of Recruit Training Regiment and Chief of Staff at MCRD San Diego.
Jim has volunteered as a Board member with the American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties, worked closely with the Board of the United Way as Director of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
FOUNDATION BOARD
Our Board of Directors come from a variety of backgrounds, but one thing unites them all, a passion for preserving and perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps. Many who serve on our Board have a strong connection with the Marine Corps Recruit Depot having drilled on the grinder, been stationed aboard the Depot, or felt the local impact of Marines in San Diego.
